Urology

Kidney, Bladder & Men's Health | Care and Cure Medical Center

Service description

Urology covers the kidneys, bladder and urinary tract in all patients, and the male reproductive system. Kidney stones deserve particular mention here, because they are markedly more common across the Gulf than in most parts of the world. Sustained heat, high fluid loss through sweat and chronic mild dehydration combine to concentrate urine, and stones form. Anyone who has passed one will not need convincing to prevent the next.

Beyond stones, this service handles recurrent urinary infections, prostate concerns, and a set of men's health issues that people commonly delay raising for years. Consultations are conducted in confidence, and there is no clinical benefit in you being embarrassed โ€” most of what is described in these appointments is common, and much of it is straightforward to treat.

Conditions treated

  • Kidney stones and ureteric stones

  • Urinary tract infections, including recurrent infections

  • Blood in the urine

  • Painful or difficult urination

Process overview

  1. Consultation. A confidential appointment in which your symptoms and history are discussed. You are welcome to request a specific doctor.

  2. Investigations. Urine testing, blood tests including kidney function and PSA where relevant, and ultrasound of the kidneys, bladder and prostate โ€” all available on site.

  3. Diagnosis. Findings are explained, including what any scan has shown and what it means for treatment.

  4. Treatment. Medical management, in-clinic procedures where appropriate, or coordinated referral to a partner hospital for stone treatment or surgery.

  5. Prevention. For stone formers in particular, you will be given specific fluid, salt and dietary guidance for this climate. This is the part of the appointment that determines whether you return.

  6. Follow-up. Repeat imaging or testing is scheduled where needed to confirm resolution.
