Service description
Our general surgeons assess conditions that may or may not need an operation, and are as ready to tell you that surgery can wait as to arrange it. A large share of what walks through the door — a lump, a swelling, recurrent abdominal pain, a problem that has been ignored for two years because the person assumed the answer would be theatre — turns out to be manageable without one, or manageable with a small procedure done under local anaesthetic in the clinic.
Where an operation is genuinely the right answer, we handle the assessment, imaging and pre-operative workup here, and coordinate the procedure with our partner hospitals. Post-operative dressings, suture removal and follow-up then come back to your local clinic rather than requiring another hospital trip.

Process overview
Consultation and examination. The surgeon assesses the problem and takes a history, including previous surgery and any long-term conditions.
Investigations. Ultrasound, X-ray and blood tests are arranged on site where needed to confirm the diagnosis.
Discussion of options. You are told what the condition is, whether it needs treating now, and what the alternatives to surgery are. Costs and insurance coverage are confirmed at this stage.
Treatment. Minor procedures are performed at the clinic under local anaesthetic. Procedures requiring day-case or inpatient facilities are scheduled with our partner hospital, with your pre-operative workup completed here.
Aftercare. Dressings, suture removal and wound checks are done at your nearest Care and Cure clinic.
Follow-up. A review appointment confirms healing and closes the episode, or arranges further care if needed.
