What is this service
Falling ill away from home is disorienting in a way that falling ill at home is not. You do not know which clinic to go to, whether your travel insurance will be accepted, or how long any of it will take — and you are trying to work this out while feeling unwell, often in a language that is not your first.
Healthcare at Hotel removes that problem by bringing clinical staff to the property. Guests are seen in their room or in a private space arranged by the hotel, assessed and treated on site, with medication arranged and documentation provided for travel insurance claims.
For hotel operators, the service extends to staff. Hospitality runs on large teams working long hours in close contact, and a service that keeps staff healthy — and keeps unwell staff away from guests — is an operational asset rather than just a benefit. We work with properties on both sides of that, with agreed response arrangements rather than ad hoc call-outs.

Procedure and process overview
Request. The hotel contacts us on behalf of a guest, or a guest contacts us directly. We confirm the location, the nature of the problem and the urgency.
Triage. We establish whether the case can be managed on site, whether a teleconsultation is sufficient, or whether the patient needs an emergency department — and say so plainly if it is the last of these.
Attendance. A doctor or nurse attends the property and sees the patient in their room or a private space arranged by the hotel.
Assessment and treatment. The patient is assessed and treated on site. Where testing is required, samples can be collected at the property.
Medication. Prescribed medication is arranged and delivered to the property through Lifeguard Pharmacy.
Documentation. The patient receives a medical report and invoice suitable for travel insurance claims.
Follow-up. A follow-up teleconsultation is arranged where needed, including after the guest has travelled home.
