What is this service
Diagnostics is what turns a probable diagnosis into a confirmed one. Our clinics provide laboratory testing, digital X-ray and ultrasound on site, which means that in most cases a test requested during your consultation is performed the same visit rather than becoming a separate appointment on another day.
All imaging is reported by qualified radiologists, and findings that require urgent action are escalated directly to the requesting doctor rather than waiting in a queue. Images and reports are made available to you for insurance purposes, onward referral or a second opinion — they are your records, and you should not have to ask twice for them.
External referrals are accepted. If another clinic has requested a scan or a blood test, you can have it done here with the referral letter.

Procedure and process overview
Request. Tests are requested by your doctor during consultation. External requests from other clinics are accepted — bring the referral letter.
Preparation. You will be told exactly what applies to your test when it is booked. Fasting is required for some blood tests and abdominal scans; pelvic scans usually require a full bladder; X-rays generally need no preparation.
Sample or scan. Blood draws take a few minutes. X-rays take a few minutes. Ultrasound scans typically take fifteen to thirty minutes depending on the area. Female patients may request a female sonographer where available.
At home instead. Blood samples can be collected at your home rather than at the clinic — see Homecare and Wellness.
Reporting. Laboratory results are processed and imaging is reported by a radiologist. Any finding requiring urgent attention is escalated to your doctor immediately.
Results explained. Your doctor goes through the report with you and explains what it means for your treatment.
Records. Copies of results and images are provided for your own records, insurance claims or onward referral.
