What is this service
This is where most patient journeys begin. Our general physicians assess adults and children across the full range of everyday medical problems — the fever that has not settled, the fatigue with no obvious cause, the blood pressure reading a pharmacy flagged — and work out what is actually going on before treatment starts.
Where a specialist is needed, you can usually be seen within the same group rather than being sent across the city. Our specialty clinics cover orthopaedics, dermatology, urology and general surgery, alongside internal medicine. The practical advantage of having them together is that a patient with knee pain, raised blood sugar and a skin problem is treated as one person rather than three separate referrals.
Long-term conditions are managed on an ongoing basis with a monitoring schedule, not episode by episode when something goes wrong.

Procedure and process overview
Book or walk in. Book a teleconsultation online to be assessed remotely first, or walk into any of our clinics during opening hours.
Consultation. Your doctor takes a full history — symptoms, timeline, medications, family history — and examines you.
Investigations. Where tests are needed, blood work and imaging are arranged on site. Most routine results return the same day or next day.
Diagnosis and plan. Your doctor explains what the results mean and agrees a treatment plan with you, including what to do if symptoms change.
Specialist referral. If a specialty opinion is needed, this is arranged within the group where possible, and to a partner hospital where a procedure requires one.
Medication. Prescriptions are dispensed at the Lifeguard Pharmacy counter at the clinic.
Follow-up. Reviews can be held in person or by teleconsultation. Long-term conditions move onto a monitoring schedule.
